A Two-Day Intensive Handling Experience
Limited to 30 participants, divided into two groups for personalized attention.

Join professional handler and judge Will Alexander for a hands-on, two-day seminar designed to sharpen your skills and deepen your understanding of the sport of dog showing.​

​Day One: Mastering the Fundamentals

  • Morning Session:

    • “The Masters Lecture” inspired by George Alston

    • Philosophy of dog shows

    • Owner-handlers vs. professional handlers

    • Training, reinforcement, and practical demos: lead work, running, stacking, ring procedures

  • Afternoon Session:

    • In-ring application of morning skills

    • Seminar on dog show politics, judge expectations, dress code, and etiquette

    • Open Q&A

 

Day Two: Practical Application & Performance

  • Morning Session:

    • Follow-up Q&A from Day One

    • Individual gaiting and movement analysis

    • Courtesy turn vs. controlled turn

    • Patterns, table and ramp exams

    • Addressing common issues: pacing, posting, and more

  • Afternoon Session:

    • Mock dog show for real-time experience

    • Handling competition

    • Final Q&A to wrap up the weekend
